Nicole Shefrin
CEO
Nic Shefrin is a nonprofit executive with nearly 20 years of experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, event planning, and community building. She has built an incredibly successful career driven by a desire to help others and lead passionately with purpose.
Prior to joining our team, she was CEO and Founder of Fostering Hope Ohio, a group dedicated to enriching the lives of children living in foster care.
In 2019, Nic moved from Cleveland, Ohio to Atlanta. Her contributions to Cleveland and Northeast Ohio haven’t gone unnoticed. She’s been recognized with awards including the Beech Brook Partnership Award in 2015, Good News Giving Agency 2014 and 2016, the Ohio Guidestone Volunteer Achievement Award 2012-2013, the National Council of Jewish Women’s Roslyn Z. Wolf Award in 2015, and was named one of Sun News’ Inspiring People of 2015. She was also recognized as one of Cleveland’s rising community leaders in the Cleveland Bridge Builders Class of 2016. Even after Nic left the Cleveland community her impact was still being felt – in 2023 she was awarded the Champion of Hope Award for her contributions to the foster community in Northeast Ohio.
Nic currently lives in Atlanta with her husband and three daughters. She sits on the Advisory Council for Together for Families and volunteers her time as an advocate for homeless youth at The Orange Duffel Bag Initiative. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History from Kent State University and a Master of Nonprofit Organizations from Case Western Reserve University.
